Recently my dentist informed me that all the enamel on the back side of my upper front teeth has been eroded to the dentine. She suggested that as I am visiting Thailand next week I should seek treatment there (more cost effective). In your opinion what would be the best course of treatment?. Are venerrs successful on the back side of teeth or would a composite sealant be better?. I would appreciate any comments or suggestions you may have. Obviously, I am concerned that expensive work is not done unless it is absolutely necessary. Many thanks. J.S

I had one molar extracted when i was 11 (now I am 19) the place where the molar was extracted has disappeared, my jaw shrinked in that place, it looks like there was never a molar in that place.. (because of this extracted molar, my face looks misshaped. when i was 17 i had 3 more molars taken out (i would like to mention that no dentist told me about the implications of taking teeth out, about the bone resorption process of the jaw, about implant etc)i had no idea of these implications because if i knew i wouldn’t have taken out so many teeth). So the place where the 3 molars were extracted did not shrink completely as i took them out recently(2 years ago). So, that is what i am desperately looking for... i do not know what to do to stop the shrinking process as i do not have money now for dental implants. So is there any way that some artificial bone can be added to the places where the molars were extracted and be ready for implants when i have the money, but without the bone atrophy to take place again after the bone is added. Also i need to wear 1 year braces for my overbite and then have jaw surgery, so this is another reason i can't have implants now, but still i do not want my jaw to shrink...will it be possible to have my jaw back like it was before taking out the total of 4 molars with the help of bone grafting? i hope you understood my question, is very important for me. please answer, thank very much.

I just had a second root canal done on tooth #14 by an endodontist - the 1st one was done by my regular dentist abt 5 months ago. My tooth was quite sensitive to chewing pressure prior to the second root canal. Now that sensitivity has subsided a bit but has not gone away totally. The last root canal was done Sept 25 abt 3 weeks ago. Is this normal? What are some logical next steps and when should they be done?

I have just had a root filling in a tooth which is already a crown, I have had the crown for about 20 years. After four days it is still very painful in fact more so than it was after the antibiotics had settled the abcess. Is there still time for it to settle down? If not what will be the outcome? I have another appointment in 2 weeks, I am just wondering if I will have to have a new crown or if the peg of my original tooth will have been damaged by the abcess.

I seem to have a little bit some erosion on my front teeth top front two and two or three on bottoom. It also looks like its getting a bit transluscent on the lower half of my front teeth (on top). I have been using arm and hammer enamel care and pronamel toothpaste. I am 37. should I visit dentist. Is there anything he can do to prevent further deterioration. Many thanks for your time.

I have been getting 1-4 canker sores almost every month for about two years now. I am on Wellbutrin XL 300 (one daily), woman vitamins, birth control (microgeston) and 5mg. of ritalin. I brush and floss daily, I am NOT stressed out and i'm in very good health. I excersize and eat well. However, I do eat sugar with some food- and fruit- which is bad for canker sores. But, do you have any ideas how to prevent these canker sores or what to do to help heal them? I have tried everything over the counter. Is it my diet? One of my meds? Thank you so much for your help!

Funny enough, I was sat eating a packet of Crisps (McCoys) and I bit something hard, I didnt think anything of it because just thought it was a hard bit of the Crisp and carried on, it happened about 45 mins ago, since then i've drank and eaten... anyway, was sat down and was running my tongue around my teeth (its a habit) and noticed something, looked in the mirror and noticed abit of my tooth has actually snapped/broken off, the tooth which it is is 'Lower Right - 29'...
the bit thats snapped off is still there though because its sort of stuck between the tooth its come off, and tooth '28', i've previously had a filling in that tooth aswell, and at the mo, it isnt hurting at all, im not sure whether its because of the filling behind it or what?
I just want to know if its ok to leave it or how much it would cost to get it sorted?
I currently dont recieve any money, I live with my Mum, im 21 but look 14 apparently, I was on my Mums benefit or something but then got told I wasnt allowed on it and then had to pay, but not being on the Dole or recieving money from anywhere, I havent got money to pay for the treatment, so just really need to know what I can do?
Thanks.

What do I do when I have teeth that seems that have had a shallow crack? It's sensitive and my dentist's only proposed solution was to get a root canal when it becomes painful.
